The team at Peter Edwards Law covers parts of England & Wales. Together we handle all aspects of Mental Health and Incapacity Law and work towards the common goal of representing vulnerable people.
Specialist Incapacity Law team
We focus on all aspects of safeguarding and in particular representing those who are deprived of their liberty. We have been involved in many leading Court of Protection cases that have helped to shape the law. We also advise on and prepare Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney, Trusts and Estate Planning.
Sadly, some vulnerable people are abused by others, or families feel that their loved ones are getting a raw deal from health or social services. Using a combination of laws such as the Mental Capacity Act, the Human Rights Act, the Mental Health Act and, from April 1st 2015, the Care Act we can help ensure that rights are respected and protected.
Specialist Mental Health Tribunal team
We represent clients detained under the Mental Health Act throughout the North West, North Wales, Lancashire, Cumbria, Greater Manchester, Cheshire, Staffordshire and the West Midlands.
We also cover Hertfordshire and Greater London and we’re able to respond to issues for patients detained under the Mental Health Act.
Specialist Financial Deputyship team
Peter Edwards is appointed deputy by the Court of Protection especially in those cases where vulnerable people have been exposed to financial abuse
