A bit more about Paul Williams
I have always had an interest in all areas of law before I decided to pursue a career in Mental Health and Human Rights Law. I obtained an LLB (Hons) from Liverpool John Moores University in 2008 before going on and completing my LPC in 2009. I am a member of the Law Society Mental Health Tribunal Panel.
I have had 2 years’ experience in a personal injury firm of solicitors were I undertook numerous tasks ranging from advocacy in ex parte applications to assisting Barristers in Court cases. I joined Peter Edwards Law in 2012 after I deciding that my main ambition was to become a solicitor in mental health, capacity and community care work. I qualified as a solicitor in 2015.
I am currently based in the Civil Litigation Department at Peter Edwards Law which entails dealing with complex cases in the Court of Protection and issues in respect of the Mental Capacity Act 2005. I represent client’s before the Court of Protection in s.21A applications and welfare matters. Although primarily based within the Civil Litigation Department, I also represent client’s before the Mental Health Tribunal and I am an accredited panel member of the Tribunal.
