A bit more about Jenny Oxton
I have been working for Peter Edwards Law for over 15 years. I started as a legal secretary and developed an interest in Mental Health and Incapacity Law, in particular representing vulnerable clients. I decided to go back to college to study for my legal exams. I am now a Graduate Member of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives – and I am in the process of applying to become a Fellow (FILEX) having completed the qualifying employment period. I am also a member of the Law Society Mental Health Accreditation Scheme.
I am head of the Mental Health Tribunal Department. I have now been representing clients in respect of the Mental Health Tribunals for nearly 10 years, becoming panel accredited in 2012. I visit clients who are receiving treatment within the Mental Health Act both in hospital and in the community. I advise clients of their legal rights, and represent them at Tribunals.
Little known fact...
I have done the Sydney Harbour Bridge climb, which is hard work and a little scary, but absolutely amazing!
Away from the office...
Out of work I enjoy horse riding, dancing, socialising and travelling.
