A bit more about Padma Panigrahi
I graduated with a LLB Honours degree in law in 1998 and completed my Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice in 1999. I qualified as a solicitor in 2004 having carried out my training in a London based firm specialising in Criminal and Mental Health Law.
I have been a member of the Law Society’s Mental Health Panel since 2011. I am also a member of the Criminal Litigation Accreditation Panel and have Higher Rights of Audience before the Crown Court.
I regularly represent clients detained under the Mental Health Act before the First Tier Tribunal. This includes clients detained in high and medium secure hospitals. My legal practice also includes dealing with matters under the Mental Capacity Act 2005 before the Court of Protection. This involves dealing with health and welfare matters and also representing people who have been deprived of their liberty under the deprivation of liberty safeguards.
I joined Peter Edwards Law as a consultant solicitor in April 2011 and I represent people in Greater London, Oxfordshire, Berkshire and the Home Counties.
