This year, thanks to Peter Edwards and his amazing team, I was finally awarded Health & Welfare Deputy for my son, after appealing an earlier decision made by the CoP to decline the application.
My first contact with Peter Edwards Law regarding the Health and Welfare Deputy, was in 2020 during the height of covid whilst residing as a British citizen in the Middle East. I was making plans to relocate back home to the UK with my son, after the death of my husband, and I reached out to Peter Edwards after being made aware that I had no legal rights to make decisions on my son’s behalf.
Peter Edwards Law provided me with full support and step by step guidance in preparing all necessary paperwork to evidence my situation whilst overseas, which came with its very own unique challenges. Once back in the UK, Peter Edwards Law applied for Legal Aid for my son, which was successful, but only after repeated appeals. Peter Edwards Law appointed a Barrister and advised and supported me in contacting the local health authority and social services and the relevant teams who now support my son. They helped me with the practical steps of understanding the responsibilities of a becoming a Deputy and understanding the Mental Capacity Act.
Peter Edwards Law have been nothing but professional in their handling of my case. They understood how overwhelming and intrusive the process was for my family, and they fought my son’s case every step of the way.
My journey to becoming Health & Welfare Deputy would not have been possible without the professional guidance, encouragement, belief and support of Peter Edwards and his team. Peter Edwards and his team not only educate and inform, but they empower those like me to fight for their loved ones best interests.
