80th Anniversary of VE Day

Commemorating VE Day at the Office: A Moment of Reflection and Remembrance

On the 80th anniversary of VE Day, Peter Edwards Law came together as a collective to reflect on compassion, unity, peace, and respect.

On 8 May 1945, people across the UK and Europe celebrated the end of the Second World War in Europe with gatherings, music, and of course, plenty of tea and cakes.

To honour this tradition, we spent time sharing delicious treats and taking time to reflect on the significance of the day. VE Day is not only a time to look back on history, but also a reminder of the sacrifices made for the freedoms we enjoy today. It’s a day to recognise the resilience and courage of those who came before us and to consider how we carry their legacy forward, with gratitude, remembrance and hope for the future.

As we gathered, we paused to remember that the values which brought people together in 1945 are just as relevant now. In a world that continues to face challenges, VE Day encourages us to strive for understanding and solidarity in our everyday lives.

We felt inspired to create communities and workplaces grounded in empathy, inclusivity, and kindness.

Thank you to staff for joining us at the tea party and commemorating the day.
